Quickly promote products or collections in newsletters
New shortcuts make it easy to go from a product or collections details page in Shopify, to highlighting those products in a newsletter. Select a product and look for the “Promote products in newsletter” action to be taken to the Seguno editor.
Recover lost revenue with the Back in Stock automation template from Seguno. When shoppers register for a restock alert, they’ll automatically receive a personalized email when the product is available for purchase.
Add a Seguno email to a Shopify Marketing Automation
Build more complex automations with Seguno’s ‘Send a marketing email’ action within Shopify’s workflow builder. This new feature allows you to take advantage of both, Seguno’s Editor and the customizable logic of Shopify Automations to drive more sales.
Add multiple languages from the Settings page, customize translations, and select different languages for templates and newsletters. Languages can be changed directly from the email editor or selected when creating a newsletter or template. Languages supported include: Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish.
There is now an option in the popup Trigger settings to target different device types: any device, mobile phone, or desktop/tablet. If exit intent (built exclusively for desktop) is selected, desktop/tablet is automatically selected and the other options become disabled.
Quickly make edits to sections with the new Action Bar, located beneath the selected section in the preview area. This allows you to take actions like “Move up,” “Move down,” “Duplicate,” “Hide,” and “Remove” for that current section.
The editor now shows a thumbnail of relevant image sections and a snippet of text sections in the section list, making it easier for merchants to find the section they want to edit, especially on mobile.
All product and collection sections in the Seguno email editor will now use 600x600 pixel images when the “Crop to fit” property is used. This update improves the image quality, especially on mobile devices with high pixel density displays.
Hide the overlay to allow visitors to navigate the store without needing to first interact with the popup. This is great when your popup's first step is a small teaser you want to keep out of the way until they are interested in learning more.
We already handled smart linking of images from your Instagram or product libraries but now we will automatically link to your shop's homepage when selecting an uploaded image or the available free images to ensure you're not missing out on those important clicks.
The dashboard setup guide shows which tasks are essential, like confirming your send settings (great for deliverability) and activating key automations (huge revenue drivers), checking them off as you go.
Discount eligibility added to the Welcome automation
Similar to the Abandoned Checkout automation, if you need to protect margins or only like to give discounts to incentivize a first purchase, you can choose to only include the selected discount in your Welcome automation emails for people that have not purchased before.
Target popups to only display for specific languages
Whether you want to translate or just better personalize your message, you can target popups to only show to shoppers visiting your store in specific languages. Requires you to have multiple languages configured in the Shopify Admin settings area.
Now it's easier to include or exclude entire areas of your site when configuring popup settings by using an asterisk at the end of the URL path. This is particularly helpful when including or excluding areas of your site that may have a lot of variations.
Set discounts to work for specific product variants
You may now select product variants when choosing eligible products in the "Applies to" section, or when configuring the "Customer buys" or "Customer gets" sections for the "Buy X, Get Y" discount type. Additionally, you may now configure customer eligibility by selecting one or more segments in the "Customer eligibility" section.
New starter email templates are now available! Along with refreshed designs, this update includes 21 new templates for newsletter content; 4 new campaign templates for coordinated launches and promotions; and automation templates for new users. All starter newsletter templates are freely available in the Template Store. Starter campaign templates are automatically available in the "Create campaign" area of Newsletters.
Now it's easier to manage your menu and socials without having to remove menu items or social accounts. In the Header section, you can now hide or show the menu (which will also hide or show the menu in the footer on mobile devices). You can also hide or show the icons for social media accounts in the Footer.
The new Countdown section in Seguno Popups includes three options to drive urgency in your popup design: a regular timer, a countdown to midnight (calculated based on the local time from the browser viewing the popup), and popup end date (which will countdown to the date when the popup deactivates).
There is now an option to change the product image after selecting a product in the Featured products and Product list sections when the product has more than 1 photo. Changing the product image will override the "Use main product image" checkbox and variant image if a variant has been selected.
The new Subscribers report helps you easily visualize your list trends and net growth. This report is accessible via the dashboard and includes a subscriber growth chart, subscriber count chart, and your 10 most recent subscribers.
Selecting a product image in the editor will now automatically pull in the Shopify media alt text and link URL in that section if those fields are blank. If no alt text has been added to the product media, the product title will be used.
The Featured product section now includes a number of new customization options, including a new content spacing slider that allows you to easily adjust the padding between products and more style options for single call-to-action buttons. Additionally, the default button copy for this section has changed to "Shop now."
As part of our ongoing editor enhancements, you can now change the background color of any section in the editor; change button styles in Product list, Featured product, Collection list, Featured blog post, and Recent blog post sections; override prices in product sections; change color settings inside the Discount callout section; and choose the text alignment in the Testimonial section.
Seguno Popups users can now set a "rest period" inside individual popup trigger settings to determine when the popup will display again after being closed for a certain duration, as short as 1 hour or up to 365 days. The current default setting is 1 week.
You can now remove primary sections from emails by selecting the delete icon or by editing the section and selecting "Remove section." Certain automation sections are still required and cannot be deleted.
Now you can target a wider audience and recover more abandoned checkouts by selecting the first email in your Abandoned checkout series to be transactional. Subsequent emails in the automation will only be sent to subscribers.
Now you can enjoy a bigger, better workspace for creating emails inside Seguno and the embedded Canva editor. The new default fullscreen editing experience allows you to focus completely on your content. Exiting fullscreen from the Actions menu takes you into a wider version of the original editor.
We have added a number of improvements to the editor that include: an optional heading for the Gallery section; text alignment and button type settings for the Featured blog post section; and menu hover actions to remove, duplicate, and hide sections.
Placeholder renderings in product and collection sections
Get an idea of how your email will look before you select your Shopify products and collections. New placeholder renderings in product and collection sections help you visualize your layout before selecting content. Placeholders are only visible in the editor and in template screenshots; they are hidden when sent.
Find and choose a starting point for your popup even faster. On the Create popup page, new icons indicate the template type, trigger, and number of steps at a glance. Arrows allow you to page through popup steps before making your selection. Along with refreshed designs, there are also five new default templates available.
Customer variable fallbacks and discount placeholder
Text fields that use the customer variable picker now provide a step to add an optional fallback value if the customer variable isn't found. This applies to First name and Last name. Additionally, Discount code is now available as a placeholder and will render if a discount code applied to the email.
Add or remove the discount code from all newsletters in a campaign with a single click. Newsletters added to a campaign automatically inherit the existing campaign discount code. When multiple discounts are in use, the codes appear next to the corresponding newsletter in the timeline. When the same discount code is used by all newsletters, this appears in the discount summary section.
See lifetime sales and orders attributed to newsletters and automations on your Seguno dashboard. View sales and order data, including Average Order Value, Average Products Sold, and number of First-time Customers on detail pages and activity reports for sent newsletters and active automations. Shopify's conversion report may still be found in the Marketing section.
Collect more subscriber data at sign-up using a single-select dropdown, single-select choice list, or multi-choice list inside a popup form. Your subscriber will be tagged with their choice on submission. Use this data to trigger customer-tagged automations and create segments.
Seguno Popups is your ticket to list growth and on-site conversion. Guide visitors, make announcements, and boost your email and SMS lists while capturing preference data to personalize your marketing — without ever leaving Shopify.
Clicking in the preview area of the editor will select that section in the sidebar. Similarly, selecting a section in the sidebar will scroll that portion of the email into view in the preview area. Design beautiful emails even faster with this helpful enhancement.
Coordinate your marketing efforts by adding newsletters to a campaign. Check out the template store to use one of our professionally designed campaigns, or create your own. With a timeline summary and aggregate reporting, campaigns will help you maximize your marketing.
If you want subscribers to only receive your curated series of emails while in an automation, you can choose to skip newsletters temporarily. This conversion-focused feature is now available for select automations.
To save time and shorten your to-do list, you can automatically schedule a remail when sending or scheduling your newsletter. Remails are sent to subscribers who did not open the first email and are a great way to increase engagement without having to create new content.
Add the exclude-from-email tag to any blog post to skip its automated announcement, as well as block it from being included in the Recent blog posts section. You can still select any post manually with the Featured blog posts section.
Automatically follow up with subscribers after their order of a specific product or any product in a specific collection is fulfilled. From install instructions to styling or care tips to replenishment reminders, Product purchased automations are sure to take your email program to the next level.
You no longer have to jump between the automation overview page and each email’s detail page. All tasks related to each email in an automation, such as editing its discount or even deleting the email, are now grouped under the new Actions menu on the right side of each email’s card.
